Dublin based professional trained mezzo soprano Mihaela Chirvase graduated from the University of Music Bucharest, followed by studying at the Verona Conservatory Italy and the DIT Conservatory and Drama Dublin where she was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Performance.
Mihaela has participated in singing Masterclasses where she has been coached by highly reputable artists including baritone Kurt Widmer in Switzerland, Irish mezzo Ann Murray, Gerald Martin Moore-Voice teacher, coach and pianist, Janice Chapman and Brenda Hurley in UK, and won the First Prize in Martian Negrea Romanian Canto Classic Competition.
Mihaela began her professional operatic engagements in Ireland singing Third Lady in The Magic Flute with Lyric Opera Company and Opera Theatre Company, Flora Bervoix La Traviata with Loughcrew Garden Opera and the Lyric Opera Company Dublin, Sister Lillian in Dead Man Walking, The Mother and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Opera Ireland and Lyric Opera Company Dublin, Mercedes Carmen.
Mihaela has performed with the Glyndebourne Chorus in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, L’Elisir D’Amore, Rusalka and La Boheme at Glyndebourne Opera Festival UK.
As Soloist in Oratorio and Sacred Music field Mihaela has performed throughout Ireland and internationally works of Karl Jenkins’s The Armed Man, Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Gloria, C.Saent-Saëns Christmas Oratorio, Elijah Felix Mendelssohn, Messiah Händel , Mozart’s Requiem , Missa Brevis in B flat Major and D Major, Witness St Matthew Passions Bach , Lauda Sion Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Liszt Hungarian Coronation Mass and Stabat Mater by Rossini with RTE National Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Lyric Opera Productions, Wexford Festival Singers, Our Lady’s Choral Society, Diva Voces, Chant 21, Carlow Choral Society, the Frascati Singers, the Palestrina Choir & Orchestra of St. Cecilia and others.
Mihaela has appeared as a concert singer in Italy, Switzerland, Romania, and Ireland with Opera Ireland Company in lunch-time Arias at Gaiety Theatre, Opera Gala Eigse Festival, and Charity Recitals in Dublin and Lewes UK.
As a member and soloist with Chamber Choir Ireland, St. Teresa’s Clarendon Street Choir and Dublin Diocesan Choir, Mihaela has performed across Ireland and Internationally in USA, Italy, Malta and Germany.
